Susan C. McQuaid (Susie)

Susie was born and raised in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. She completed her Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of New Brunswick with First Class Standing, and thereafter attended Dalhousie University to receive her Bachelor of Laws degree. Susie returned to PEI to article and was called to the Prince Edward Island Bar in 2006. She continued to practice primarily corporate/commercial law in PEI prior to moving to Calgary in 2007. She was then called to the Alberta Bar in 2008 and continues to be a non-practicing member of the PEI Bar.

After a couple of years in corporate practice, Susie transitioned to focus primarily on family law and child protection work. Susie also has experience in Wills and Estates and Real Estate matters. Her experience in Family Law includes divorce, custody and access issues, child and spousal support, division of matrimonial property and adoptions. Susie is also an experienced counsel for children through both child protection and custody matters. She is dedicated to finding a child-centered approach to resolving family issues and providing her clients with straightforward advice and practical solutions. Susie has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta, and is dedicated to pursuing her client’s interests with a view to achieving amicable solutions.

Outside the practice of law, Susie excels at building sandcastles and herding cows. She has played Varsity level soccer and has enjoyed coaching soccer and being a Big Sister with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program.
